| Howard Watson Nature Trail
- Continue the scraping and screening as required
- Installation of multi-purpose signage and gates
- Ensure the Trail remains intact and undisturbed by developmental pressure
- Work with local environmental and youth organizations to coordinate clean-up of the trail through-out the year
- Continue to develop linkages from the HWNT to community schools, parks and businesses.
Phase Two- Churchill Line to LaSalle Line
- Spring 2010- Construct a 2.5 Trail along the St. Clair Parkway/River road between LaSalle Line and Sun Ave.
Bluewater Trails Committee
- Continue to promote healthy life style -participation in information fairs, seminars, workshops, and conferences
- Continue to promote/fund-raise our memorial bricks and benches (see below)
- Meet with City Staff to ensure trail development is included in City Official Plan
- Organize "Bike Security" Areas at Canada Day and Artwalk and encourage other Event/Festival Organizers to do so as well
- Photo Exhibition-First Friday-Downtown Sarnia -Blackwater Café- February 2nd, 2008
- Host Photo Contest 2008
- Work with Sarnia Police Department to discourage "Motorized Vehicles" on Trails
- Ensure volunteers dedicated to trail maintenance and development are "Recognized"
- Active Transportation Committee
- Liaison with the Lambton County Active Transportation Committee and the Lambton County Regional Trail Committee
MEMORIAL BRICK AREA- SARNIA/POINT EDWARD
The Bluewater Trails Committee has recently developed a memorial brick area at the intersection of the Point Edward Waterfront Trail that runs along Michigan Road and the Bluewater Trail that runs into the Animal Farm through Canatara Park. By purchasing a Memorial Brick you are playing an important role in the development of Bluewater Trails as well as providing your family with an everlasting legacy for generations to come. Donations and contributions are used to further trail development, construction and maintenance, signage, promoting the trails and educating the community on trail use and respect.
